Safety: Chrome or Firefox?

Due to the fact that Explorer attracts viruses like moths to lamps, what would be a safer browser, Chrome or Firefox? Please give reasons why one is safer than the other please. By the way, this is ONLY about safety, speed, crashing, apps, etc. should be disregarded when choosing recommendation.

P.S. Just trying to confirm what I learned online:

Chrome=faster so better for browsing familiar sites like yahoo, msn, etc

Firefox=safer so better for browsing unknown sites

Is this right?

P.P.S. Oh, by the way, if you know of any safer browsers, please do share.Safety: Chrome or Firefox?
first off the safest browsing is no browsing,

and chrome does actually block websites that are known to cause viruses, ive never seen anything like that for firefox

also firefox is terribly slow and chrome is quite fast.

both have the addon called web of trust which is a free and has user submitted ratings about websites.

i like chrome much better but occasionally there are sites that dont work for it because its such a new browser, i keep firefox only because theres the occasional website that doesnt work.Safety: Chrome or Firefox?
i personally use ie. firefox. safari. but following that rational i would suggest you use chrome. Its no more secure then firefox but from what ive seen it has access to the largest badsites filterSafety: Chrome or Firefox?
I dont get how any browsers attract more viruses...

They all access URLs...
