How can I force Microsoft apps like Live Messenger to respect my default web browser?

Even though Chrome is currently my default web browser, I find that Microsoft apps always launch web links in Internet Explorer which REALLY annoys me. Is there some way I can force them to respect my default browser setting?|||Make sure that Chrome is set as your default browser by going to Start%26gt;Set Program Access and Defaults, selecting custom, clicking on the down arrows to the right to bring down a list and then selecting Chrome.|||This was a good suggestion, but unfortunately it appears Microsoft just doesn't play by (their own) rules, and even after doing this, Live Messenger still opens up Hotmail in IE. *sigh*
