How to adjust Google Chrome settings: default downloads of software and apps should go into 'D', not 'C' drive?

Also, how to confirm if Google Chrome has in fact been made my default browser and of course that any new application (and other) download I make upon clicking links while surfing will happen through Google Chrome alone?

In other words, want to completely ensure that the 'C' drive does not get burdened with more downloads, temp or permanent.|||How to make Chrome your default browser:

--------------------------------------鈥?

1. Click on the wrench icon (top right hand corner)

2. Options

3. Basic (tab)

4. Default browser(section) click on "Make Google Chrome my default browser"

How to change default Download location:

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

1. Click on the wrench icon (top right hand corner)

2. Options

3. Under the Hood (tab)

4. Downloads (section) click on "Change..." for change download location

How to create other Chrome profile (for example in D disk):

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

1. Copy your Chrome shortcut and paste on Desktop

2. Right click on pasted shortcut

3. Properties

4. Shortcut tab

5. In the "target" field add text after the end of the existing text:

--user-data-dir="D:\%26lt;your folder%26gt;\User Data"

6. Ok

For example it looks like the following:

Win7 or Vista

C:\Users\%26lt;your username%26gt;\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\

Application\chrome.exe --user-data-dir="D:\%26lt;your folder%26gt;\User Data"

WinXP

C:\Documents and Settings\%26lt;your username%26gt;\Local Settings\

Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\

chrome.exe --user-data-dir="D:\%26lt;your folder%26gt;\User Data"

It mean, if you using this profile, all Chrome Apps and extensions will be installed in this profile (in D disk)
